hola!

Well, unfortunately, I´m unable to figure out how to upload photos from this internet cafe...even if I could I probably wouldn´t because the internet connection is so slow I´d be here all day....

So far, the trip has been amazing, beautiful, nerve wracking, exciting, and exhausting!

Silly tourist mistake numero uno: when going to the bank to exchange dollars for pesos, I thought I was being safe by putting most of my money and my passport under my dress, so if I was mugged I wouldn´t loose much. Well, to my embarassment I was asked for my passport. In front of a room full of elderly Mexicans and a male teller I had to explain that I needed a bathroom because it was up my dress.....I´m sure that teller had a good laugh with his buddies over a beer over that.

Mexico City had lots of beautiful sights. It was also extremely smelly. I literally dry heaved a few times. There was a whole lot of poverty...even in the business districts most people seemed either very poor or fairly poor.
We went to some ruins, a museum, and toured all over the city (man, there are a lot of churches....and a lot of couples making out all over the place).

Oh...and all of my travelmates are great! 2 couples, a pair of friends, and 4 of us single travelers. The tour guide is fantastic and so far I´m super glad I´ve gone through this company (many thanks to Debbie). All of the details are taken care of and it´s been great not having to worry about anything.

Now we´re in Pueblo (about 2 hours south of Mexico City). It´s much more relaxed here...and much less smelly. The city is very beautiful. There seems to be a middle class here as well. I was asked to talk to a group of school girls so they could practice their English. Now, I´m going out to explore more!!
